As an ongoing, though occasional, series, I produce digital self portraits. These usually make use of close-up selfies taken with the low resolution camera of a tablet. They are then modified digitally: this may be achieved with phone/tablet apps or on a desktop computer using graphic design software. There is the paradox of engaging with my own image while also distancing myself from it. By employing a variety of styles, there are attempts towards both playfulness and reflection. As forms of transformation, they seem relevant to the London Biennale 2020 theme. In the future, I intend to exhibit these artworks as a group of small, A4 size, prints, but at 72 dpi they are very effective for an online exhibition.
