About the manifest
This manifesto translates as a conceptual alignment with the research I have been doing in the field of performance art in recent years. I coined a term called "Performanimation", to try to understand this process of revisiting my work through the animation of the photographs in which I appear masked. I understand the mask as a process of covering all possible skins ... everything that stimulates a process of subjective transformation through the artifice of objective strategies. Covering yourself with a mask is creating more space so that we can exist beyond everything we already are.
About Performanimation
The research that guides my look in these times of confinement concerns an archive of performance images created over the last decade. It is a question of revisiting the images in which I registered or in which I was registered and, therefore, establishing a way to "reactivate" these performances, by creating an image extension that involves the internal exchange between some means of aesthetic construction. The set of images below shows an approach that confers a state of confluence between the art of performance, photography, animation and video. The process in question begins with a performance action and its consequent capture, for later animation and video finishing. The digital output format keeps certain attributes of a GIF, such as a short duration, as well as the evolution in loop. In short, Performanimation is a hybrid exercise that aims to enhance some areas of the image, whose vocation for movement is converted into a continuum.
Statement artist
I perform in the face of the desire to want to live more, like someone who wakes up from a deep sleep in an endless day. I am interested in experimenting with the possible ways to exercise love, for all its colossal energy ... abyss, momentum, storm and glory. I am guided by a sensitive ballast built over an existence immersed in love, struggle, wonder and mystery. In this way, it is important to understand the weather and inclement weather ... disorienting, deforming, messing up and being beyond the whole line that bypasses ordinary reality. I do a series of things to exacerbate the architecture of life, considering what is conceived as a Super Life!
About Amor Experimental
Rodrigo Munhoz aka Amor Experimental (São Paulo, 1977). I am an artist with free (of) training in arts, whose lust moves between the visual arts, art / education, performance / action art, from the perspective of the tripod of / training, preservation and diffusion. I collaborate with the platform "La Plataformance”, I integrate the noise band "Corações Inéditos" and search for images through the platforms "bemnafita" and "P6". Currently I am an artist / educator for the "Fábrica de Cultura" project, as well as organizing a photography and performance archive made up of itineraries made in the last decade, my work has been circulating in many Brazilian states, as well as in other countries: Bangladesh, Colombia, Ecuador, Slovakia, Hungary, Mexico, Portugal, Serbia and Venezuela.
